The fortified chapel of Saint Andr\u00e9 is still there to bear witness to their presence in the early 12th century. Comps is known to have had two\u00a0<a title=\"Grand Masters of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem on Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grands_ma%C3%AEtres_de_l'ordre_de_Saint-Jean_de_J%C3%A9rusalem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grand Masters of the Hospitallers of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem<\/a>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.provenceweb.fr\/f\/var\/comps\/comps.htm#photohd\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Comps sur Artuby, landscape\" src=\"https:\/\/www.provenceweb.fr\/grafiq\/villes83\/comps\/comps-sur-artuby-paysage.jpg\" alt=\"Comps sur Artuby, landscape\" width=\"240\" height=\"160\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"5\" vspace=\"5\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nYou can explore this glorious historic past by following the chapel trail (the Chapelle Saint-Andr\u00e9, the Chapelle Saint Didier, the listed Chapelle Saint-Jean, the Chapelle Sainte-Philom\u00e8ne and the Chapelle Notre-Dame, also known as La Galine Grasse) and its winding lanes.
